Founded in 1963 by entrepreneur, Karl Toosbuy, ECCO has grown from a small factory in Southern Denmark to an international shoe manufacturing company with more than 15,000 employees worldwide and consolidated annual turnover of more than EUR 700,000,000. IN 2007, ECCO sold 17 million pairs of shoe.

Distributed in more than 90 countries, ECCO has become one of the truly international premium shoe brands. ECCO is one the few companies in the footwear industry which has achieved full vertical integration – upstream and downstream, by operating ECCO-owned tanneries in Holland, Thailand, Indonesia and China and production facilities in Denmark, Portugal, Indonesia Thailand, Slovakia and China.
